Modeling was done in Maya, and zbrush. hair with shave and a haircut. Rendering with MentalRay and some post with Photoshop. Bodypaint was used to paint maps for the fur.

Not 100% convinced about this one but i need to let it go. Pleas critique.
so.... base mesh on maya and sculpting in zbrush for body and face. Everything else only in maya.

Bodypaint for body textures and photoshop... of course!

WONDERFUL shave and a haircut which I used for the first time. This render took 14 hours so I assume I am not handling the render globals right but nevertheless I am 78% happy with it.

Rendered in Bodypaint, played around with the blackbody light shader plugged in portal lights

Tribute to FANTASTIC painter Luis Royo. Based on his painting "The counter of time".

Original Image:
http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/...ter_of_time.jpg

This was a project for the class of Alex Alvarez at Gnomon School of Visual Effects.

The base mesh was done in Maya, then, fine tuned in zbrush. Textured with the help of bodypaint and rendered with Mental Ray. Hair was done one by one... I have to find a better way because I don't think it looks that good. Please critique.

A study of the head in Zbrush. This is the first one I'm kinda proud of. I highly recommend John Brown's DVD on detailing the head. It's real clay he works on but the information is extremely relevant. Having a good alpha library is good but you need the knowledge that this dvd gives you to make it work.

http://thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/scu03.html

p.s Please note that my image does not make justice to the info in the DVD... I don't want to make bad publicity for Mr. Brown

PLEASE CRITIC!!! I have a LONG way to go

Hello everybody. This is a personal project. I used this piece for learning purposes so I re did it many times for weeks (or months). This is the last version. I can see many mistakes myself... BUT I HAD TO STOP. Maybe I'll pick it up again when my skills have improved.

I'm a Gnomon Certificate Student so I have access to all the DVDs and they helped a lot but the one that I highly recommend is "The making of Trin" from Alex Alvarez.

Also... for the nose texture I burned chicken thigh! that was great!
